Allowing them to continue to offer a service to the local residents of Slough. Last time the came in was at Christmas and their Choir sang carols.

Members took part in a fun quiz and the volunteers had fun doing the washing up. Members, Committee and volunteers all had a wonderful time.

They joined in with a game of Hoy and waited on our members. A fantastic time was had by all and there was lots of fun and laughter together.

Two great opportunities recently for mixing of the generations and bridging the gap between the elderly and young people. Westgate School year 10 pupils came for a visit to our club and put on a coffee morning for the members. They baked cakes and made sandwiches. There was a lot of fun during a game of charades and a quiz game. Creating a lot of opportunities for them all to make conversation.

Beechwood School pupils came to visit and joined us for a BBQ and also took part in our raffle. To their delight two of the pupils even won raffle prizes.

Both events were a huge success and enjoyed by both club members and school pupils increasing the opportunity of breaking down barriers between young and old. Also creating talks for similar events in the future.

The usual day comprised of a cup of tea, shellfish treat, fish and chips, more tea and then an energetic walk around the shops.

There were penny machines and penny sweets, you could even get an old penny to buy your favourite sweets with.

Our members had great fun singing along to a pianist in an old fashioned pub, playing their long ago remembered songs. It really was a trip down memory lane.
