Welcome to the home of Britwell Recycled Teenagers, Britwell's over 55 elderly club!
About us
We are an independent community and registered charity (No. 1172448) run by volunteers with the following aims.
We offer a wide range of services for anyone over the age of 55 years and you can find us at the Britwell Centre on Wentworth Avenue, Slough.
The project was a shared idea of Lin & Tony Smeaton in 2010 and has been providing a service for over 12 years alongside John & Sandra Davis and an additional group of volunteers. Sadly, Tony passed away in December 2021 and Lin has stepped up to continue to deliver this service.
The Recycled Teenagers Club has £10 per year membership with currently over 100 members, and we meet at the Britwell Centre Wentworth Avenue, Slough.
We provide two coffee mornings each week on a Monday and a Friday from 9am to 1pm For just £1 members can join in with their friends and drink as much tea or coffee as they like, on a Monday for an extra £2 there is a bacon sandwich. On a Friday members donate cakes, sausage rolls etc for all to share.
Wednesday is lunch club, lunch is served at midday, most members are there long before! The lunch club finishes at 3pm and it is £5 for a dinner, pudding and they can drink as much tea or coffee as they like. We hold a raffle on Wednesday, for a £1 per strip with all proceeds helping us to fund outside trips and activities.
Every session there is a game of HOY.
There are at least 5 trips each year which include going to the seaside or places of interest, we also arrange an annual holiday.
We now arrange Monday walks with Emily after coffee. If you are interested speak to Lin.
Low impact chair exercises are coming soon and will be held after a coffee session.
We also get the Rah Rah drama company to come in to put on some entertainment which is followed by a buffet.
In 2014 we were awarded the Voluntary Sector ‘Charity of the Year’.
